Quick Thought.

Hey parents, this sucks. 5pm Sunday night call from Public Schools that Face to face teaching is done for at least the next 3 weeks starting…… tomorrow. WTF instant anxiety attack, stress level raises…. let me get a drink, get to social media, blame ands complain.

This is another great moment to teach our kids how to respond to adversity…

Give up?

Complain and look for relief via a substance?

Blame others?

Adapt and achieve?

We complain how “soft” these younger generations are. But look how we react when things don’t go as planned. This is why mental illnesses are at an all time high. People no longer know how to handle things. If there’s any consistency in life is that it is inconsistent. Having a plan is setting yourself for failure, especially if that plan involves things you can’t control. Traffic, other people, the weather, the government, and a bunch of other bullshit.

My first tattoo was hukuna matata which is Disney for no worries. People often get that twisted with me. I worry about everything, but not in a negative way. I worry so it makes me prepare for any and everything. Which sounds like I do a lot of planning… wait, what? “you pretty much just said fuck a plan”. Yea I know what I said. But I don’t have a plan, I have a goal. I don’t know which path I’m going to take to get to the goal. But I know I’m going to get there, no matter what. ADAPT &ACHIEVE

This might not work for everyone but it’s worth a shot. Certainly beats being stressed out and teaching kids to be “soft”.

The next few days, weeks, months, years, who the hell knows how long things are going to be hard. I don’t know about you all, but I have the most fun when things are hard…
